Hi there lovely colleagues!
I was quiet for some time because I was ruminating on new ideas, and topics and reshaping some slightly outdated things. The most difficult thing is focusing on searching for a job and defining your goals as a complete stranger in the new system. It happens quite frequently that a large number of foreign doctors have very little or even no working experience in the field of medicine. They just graduated and decided to come to Germany to pursue their careers. It becomes slightly difficult when searching for a job as most of the clinics prefer experienced doctors who have worked in the German system. But, it is unrealistic because all of us had to be given a chance to work somewhere and acquire the experience, right?
So what sre three most important things when you write your motivation letter?
1.Write in the short lines why are you interested in certain job.
2.You have to read the website thoroughly about the spectrum of the diseases they treat, and if you have an interest in the treatement of the diseases from their spectrum, you can write that you have a special interest in the treatement of certain disease and that you would really like to lean more about that and the new treatement methods.
3. If you notice some familiar names from medicine, do not be hesitant to learn more about those individuals and ask them in interview about their work. Show your interest, be audacious, respectful und enthusiastic! Ask for mentorship if possible, they will like it!
Once you get an invitation for your job interview, be prepared that you will be asked various questions. To tell the truth, certain questions are completely irrelevant to the topic, but we have learned to deal with that. Try to stay calm, respectful and attached to the main point. Do not let yourself be distracted or provoked by anything. You are just being tested, and it is also part of the life. Remember that just these irrelevant questions will show you a decent part of the mentality of the working surroundings. Do not ignore this! These minimalistic things open the “Pandora’s box”. So be courageous, listen, learn, explore and bring the best decision for your future 🙂
I hope that you found this helpful 🙂
